Following the shutdown of Salgado Filho Airport (POA) in May 2024, Eldorado do Sul Aero Club (SIXE) has emerged as one of the top three runways for general aviation in the Porto Alegre region. The 1600 meter (5250 ft) gravel runway is suitable for piston aircraft and turbo-props exclusively and frequently receives airplanes, including Cessna Caravan, King Air C90, or King Air B200.
