AN 124 is a strategic airlift quadjet, considered the world's third largest cargo aircraft. Ideal for heavy and outsize cargo, AN 124 boasts a nose-loading facility and a rear entrance, as well as an integrated loading ramp allowing for the transportation of military equipment, boasts, large engines, machines, cube containers and troops. Up to 120 tonnes of cargo can be loaded on AN 124’s 35-meters long hold (6.7m wide and 4.5 high). An overhead crane, fixed to the ceiling of the hold, allows for lifting and moving of good inside the fuselage. With a total of 24 wheels and a steerable nose wheel and, the AN 124 can land and turn around on poorly developed runways with ease. The aircraft has a maximum range of 2350 NM (4350 km) with maximum payload.
