Since October 12, landing and take-off operations at Fernando de Noronha airport [FEN; SBFN] have been prohibited for aircraft with reaction engines – such as commercial aircraft and jets. The decision is a safety measure and was taken by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) because of the bad conditions of the runway.
It is expected that repair works, which have already begun, will last about two months. Once the improvements have been completed, it is forecast that operations will start again, as the infrastructure will meet the requirements of the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulations (RBAC).
To preserve the archipelago, the government of Pernambuco usually maintains a high standard of safety on site, in addition to controlling the number of tourists. Fortaleza [SBFZ] – Fernando de Noronha [SBFN]
Despite being an interstate trip, this is the most accessible route to Fernando de Noronha because of the location of the fleet of aircraft belonging to the partners with whom Flapper operates. This stretch can be done in about 1h20m on board a light jet like the Citation CJ3 (7 passengers) or about 1h45m on a King Air A200 (8 seats).
Recife [SBRF] – Fernando de Noronha [SBFN]
The stretch between the capital of Pernambuco and the archipelago is the most popular due to the number of connections between Recife and the rest of Brazil. In a Cessna Citation II (8 passengers), the flight can be made in approximately 1h10m. On board a King Air C90 (5 seats), the itinerary can be carried out in about 1h35m.
Natal [SBNT] – Fernando de Noronha [SBFN]
Those who opt for a light jet, such as the HondaJet Elite (6 passengers), can go to Fernando de Noronha from the capital of Rio Grande do Norte in about 50 minutes. This is the fastest option on our list due to the distance between the two airports. Here, a King Air turboprop, such as the C90 GTI (6 seats), is also a possibility – a trip of just over 1h.
São Paulo [SBSP] – Fernando de Noronha [SBFN]
Currently a very popular option, this is a more exclusive route because of the distance between the departure airport and the destination. They are usually two main options. One of them is a direct flight aboard a medium or heavy jet, such as the Global 6000 (12 seats), which lasts about 3h40m. The other possibility is to opt for a light jet, such as the Citation CJ2 (6 passengers). With this option, the itinerary lasts about 5h10m and it is necessary to make a stop.

This model has a special configuration, it has a sofa facing the side as well as four seats approved for executive transport. It also has more space, more power and more reach than its predecessors. It is an ideal aircraft for operations at airports where there are size restrictions.
Cessna Citation V
this popular Cessna jet is an extended version of the Citation II. It has a capacity for eight passengers – half of them in a club configuration, two in the rear and two on the sofa. The five-inch lowered corridor provides extra space to stand while the cabin is particularly spacious and quiet. On this aircraft, passengers can enjoy several cabin amenities, such as an entertainment system, a front cabinet with a small kitchen, a coffee maker and electrical outlets, among others. Its range of 3,045 kilometers (or 1,644 nautical miles) allows it to male long flights, such as between São Paulo and Recife.
