Mexicans are among the world’s top markets when it comes to executive aviation. Perhaps because of its proximity to the United States, the Latin country is so prominent in the segment, which includes jet chartering and air taxi operation in Mexico. Only between jets, in fact, there are almost a thousand in the country, a number that positions it only below the neighbors to the North.
For all types of private aeronbirds that make up Mexican executive aviation, according to data compiled by the Mexican Federation of Pilots and Aircraft Owners, there are about 7,700. A much higher number than commercial aviation, which has about 1,600 aircraft.
According to the association, mexico’s private aviation sector accounts for about 80% of the country’s entire air activity. About 17% are the responsibility of commercial aviation, while the rest is handled by state and military aircraft.
