Southern Chile
Nevados de Chillán is also one of Chile’s iconic centers. It is one of the few places that offers skiing among trees in South America and offers hot springs to complement an unforgettable experience. The General Bernardo O’Higgins Regional Airport (SCCH) in Chillán is the closest to the center.
Also in the south, and a little more unknown, is Corralco, at the foot of the Lonquimay volcano, 120 kilometers from Temuco. Thanks to its location, the season manages to extend until October, almost a month longer than usual. From the International Airport of Santiago or the Eulogio Sánchez Aerodrome (SCTB), also in the capital, the nearest airport is Villa Portales, which is limited to smaller turboprop business aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-12 or the King Air B200, due to the extension of its runway (940 meters).

Central Argentina
On the other side of the Andes there are also great places to ski, from the center of Argentina in Mendoza (Las Leñas) to Ushuaia (Cerro Castor), the southernmost ski center in the world. However, Las Leñas is the one that receives the most tourists in the year and probably the most famous center in the country.
Due to cabotage regulations prevailing in Argentina, it is necessary to operate internal flights to reach the different terminals near the ski resorts. In the case of Las Leñas, the closest is the Comodoro D. Ricardo Salomón airport (SAMM). Typically, business jets connect from the San Fernando Airport in Buenos Aires (SADF), on a flight that lasts just under two hours.

Southern Argentina
There is no list of skis in Argentina without mentioning Bariloche. Cerro Catedral is iconic, like the Nevados de Chillán in Chile, for having skiing between trees, which is very scarce in South America. Its views of the famous Nahuel Huapi National Park are beautiful and make the experience unbeatable. Where to land an executive jet? Finally, at the southern tip of the continent, in beautiful Ushuaia, is Cerro Castor, literally the southernmost ski center in the world and which has the longest season in South America due to its location. Opened in 1999, it is the most modern in Argentina and is located 27 kilometers from Ushuaia. How to get there by private jet? Other centers in South America
In addition to Chile and Argentina, there are no ski resorts in South America. However, mountain skiing is practiced in Peru and Ecuador. In fact, the latter offers the possibility of snowboarding in the snow-capped glaciers of the Chimborazo volcano, with at least 10 descent routes available.
