What to do in Panama
Panama is a tourist destination that appeals to all tastes. Home to one of the seven wonders of the world – the Panama Canal – and deserted beaches with turquoise waters, the country has started to invest heavily in tourism in recent years. As a result, we can find several luxury boutique hotels, resorts, good nightlife and haute cuisine restaurants.
In addition to nature, the place also offers a rich culture and history for visitors to explore. The historic town of Casco Viejo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is an area rich in history and architecture. Exploring the narrow streets and admiring the beauty of Spanish colonial buildings is an unmissable program.
Main Airports in Panama
Tocumen International Airport (MPTO/PTY) is Panama City’s main airport and aviation hub. The site has infrastructure dedicated to business aviation services, such as FBOs , which offer a wide variety of services, including fueling, maintenance, hangar and ground support for passengers and crew.
An alternative airport also found in Panama City is Albrook “Marcos A. Gelabert” International Airport. Located on the outskirts of the capital’s business center, it is used almost exclusively for general aviation. Although it is smaller when compared to Tocumen, its runway is long enough to handle almost any type of aircraft, making it a good choice for landings and takeoffs for private jets.
Other airports
Opened in 2014, Panama Pacifico International Airport (MPPA/BLB) is located in the municipality of Veracruz. At an approximate distance of 20 minutes from the business center of Panama City, its facilities serve mainly executive aviation passengers.
We can also mention other airports that serve air taxi and executive jet flights, such as Enrique Malek International Airport (MPDA/DAV), in the city of David, Scarlett Martinez International Airport (RIH/MPSM), located in Rio Hato and by Finally, Bocas del Toro “Isla Colon” International Airport (MPBO/BOC). Located on Colón Island, it is an important arrival point for tourists heading to the Bocas del Toro archipelago.
